Towel rose
A blooming rose from a single hand towel — a tray accent, a pillow touch, or the eye between two swans.
Watch it folded — Towel art
You'll learn to
- Roll loosely enough that petal layers show
- Lock the base and flare an open bloom
You'll need
- • Hand towel for the bloom — 1
- • Green face towel or ribbon for the stem — 1
Step-by-step checkpoints
Watch the masterclass above for the live motion — use these diagrams to check each stage as you fold.
Diagram key
1.Lay the hand towel flat, long edge toward you.
2.Fold a narrow band along the top edge — this becomes the petal rim.
3.Roll the towel along its length, banded edge up — roll LOOSELY so petals show.
Rolled too tight = a cigar with no petals; too loose = it falls apart.
4.Fold the tail under to lock the base, flare the top edge into petals, and wrap a green stem.
What 'done right' looks like
- Visible spiralled petals — an open bloom, not a tight cigar
- Base is secure and the rose holds together
Common mistakes → the fix
- ✗ No petals show
✓ Roll looser and flare the rim outward at the end. - ✗ The rose falls apart
✓ Fold the tail fully under and tuck it to lock the base.
Pro tips
- ★ Place one in the cleft of a towel heart, or as the 'eye' accent beside a swan.
Finishing & placement
